"The Girls in the Band" Live performance by Lindsey Hundley & LADY JAZZ
Lady Jazz will be the featured ensemble following the 11 am screening of "The Girls in the Band" in Long Beach at the Art Theater on Saturday August 24th. Lady Jazz will perform at approximately 1pm at Portfolio Coffeehouse located at 2300 E 4th St Long Beach, CA 90814. Portfolio is located just down the street from the Art Theater. Come to the Art Theater located at 2025 E. 4th Street Long Beach, CA 90804. "The Girls in the Band" is a amazing documentary that highlights the contribution of women instrumentalists throughout the history of jazz. There will be a Q&A with director Judy Chaikin, producer Nancy Kissock, and musician Ann Patterson, (leader of Maiden Voyage and featured in the film), immediately following the screening.
“Lindsey Hundley & LADY JAZZ” was created to celebrate the contributions and talents of female jazz musicians. LADY JAZZ performs original jazz compositions and arrangements of standards with unique instrumentation. LADY JAZZ performs regularly throughout Southern California. Jazz artist Lindsey Hundley returns to perform innovative, jazz-inspired arrangements of some of J.S. Bach’s most famous works during the extremely popular event Bach a Bacchus, as part of the Long Beach Bach Festival. A portion of the concert will feature bassist, Dominic Thiroux and Lauren Kosty on vibraphone and percussion. Together, the trio will perform famous Bach masterpieces including the Toccata and Fugue in D minor.
Audience members will have the opportunity to taste a variety of wines and sample light hors d’oeuvres while listening to Lindsey’s creative performance in a casually elegant environment. In addition to her arrangements of Bach, Ms. Hundley will perform a broad range of music, from familiar jazz standards and blues to Brazilian/Latin Jazz, and original compositions.

Jazz artist Lindsey Hundley returns to perform innovative, jazz-inspired arrangements of some of J.S. Bach’s most famous works during the extremely popular event Bach a Bacchus, as part of the Long Beach Bach Festival. A portion of the concert will feature bassist, Dominic Thiroux and Lauren Kosty on vibraphone and percussion. Together, the trio will perform famous Bach masterpieces including the Toccata and Fugue in D minor.
Audience members will have the opportunity to taste a variety of wines and sample light hors d’oeuvres while listening to Lindsey’s creative performance in a casually elegant environment. In addition to her arrangements of Bach, Ms. Hundley will perform a broad range of music, from familiar jazz standards and blues to Brazilian/Latin Jazz, and original compositions.
